Mission Launches with First Divine Liturgy

18 souls gathered for the first Liturgy of St. Theodore's Orthodox Church in Macclesfield, 5 from St. Aidan's.  This left the priest, Fr. Gregory, very satisfied that a good start had been made toward establishing an Orthodox community in the town.  Nothing seemed to have been forgotten, aided perhaps by Fr. Gregory's obsession with lists!  Benedict Broomhead served as Cantor and Fr. John-Mark as deacon.  Elizabeth Wilson fulfilled all those other necessary functions for a church, doorkeeper, welcomer, bookstall manager, photographer, gofer ... I don't know how she managed all that.  Thank you Elizabeth!  This was an especially poignant moment for Elizabeth and for all of us from St. Aidan's as the icon of St. Theodore had been written by her husband, Michael, who reposed in the Lord earlier in the year.  We look forward, God willing to the next Liturgy on Saturday 15th October.
